E-bike punionica Krnica

Postavljena e-bike punionica i servisna točka doprinosi održivoj mobilnosti, smanjenju emisija CO₂ te promicanju ekološki prihvatljivih načina kretanja posjetitelja i mještana. Projekt također jača prekograničnu suradnju, potiče valorizaciju prirodne i kulturne baštine te doprinosi održivom razvoju lokalnih zajednica, omogućujući sigurnije i kvalitetnije iskustvo biciklistima i ljubiteljima prirode. 🚴‍♀️🚴
🇬🇧 To the delight of cycle tourists and the local community in Krnica, the first e-bike charging station in our destination has been installed on the Adriatic–Ionian cycling route, thanks to the Istria County and the CYROS project implemented within the Interreg Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 programme. The e-bike chargers have been realized in cooperation with the Municipality of Marčana and the Marčana Tourist Board.
The e-bike charging station in Krnica is equipped with four stands featuring “Schuko” sockets for connecting any of four types of bicycle-charging adapters, two USB ports for charging mobile phones, a compressor for inflating tyres, and a “service point” with basic tools for fixing minor bicycle issues. The design and installation were carried out by the company UTE d.o.o.
The main goal of the CYROS project is to map out the Adriatic–Ionian cycling route, which will connect destinations along the coast and encourage the development of active tourism. The installed e-bike charging station and service point contribute to sustainable mobility, reducing CO₂ emissions, and promoting environmentally friendly modes of travel for visitors and residents. The project also strengthens cross-border cooperation, encourages the valorisation of natural and cultural heritage, and supports the sustainable development of local communities by providing a safer and higher-quality experience for cyclists and nature lovers. 🚴‍♀️🚴

Water reduction in Istria

Water reduction in Istria

Mandatory water saving measures

Dear visitors to Istria,

Due to the unfavourable hydrological situation in the Region of Istria, from Monday, July 18, 2022 the first measures to limit consumption of drinking water will be introduced.

Climate changes significantly affect our lives, but our daily behaviour can influence their negative effects to be significantly reduced. Istria has been without heavy rains for more than a year, so the supply of drinking water is becoming an increasing challenge.

In addition to an invitation to all residents and visitors of Istria to use water rationally, several mandatory reduction measures are being introduced because of the dry period we are currently in.

Ban on the use of drinking water in Istria

refers to the following activities:

– use of showers on the beaches

– vehicle washing (personal, cargo and public transport)

– washing all watercraft (ships, boats, yachts and all other sports and leisure facilities that are not watercraft)

– watering green public and private areas (does not apply to agriculture)

– watering of sports courts/pitches

– washing public areas, streets and squares, except for the areas of markets and fish markets.

A call to save water

We invite you to use water rationally, wherever possible, so that together we can meet the improvement of the hydrological situation on our peninsula more easily.

This call for savings and certain restrictions are preventive measures to ensure a constant and safe supply of drinking water in the coming period. In this way, we can avoid possible problems with water supply caused by force majeure and the introduction of additional measures.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation, in the hope that you will continue to enjoy your holiday and the fun days ahead of you!

Yours

Istria Tourist Board
